Nothing Will Benefit Human Health And Increase Chances Of Survival For Life On Earth As Much As The Evolution To A Vegetarian Diet —– T Einstein, Nobel Prize Winner

At first, the coronary heart disease mortality amongst people who follow vegetarian Diet is just 14 percent. Vegetarians can, of course, have heart attacks, but they occur approximately 20 years later than in the lives of meat-eaters. This is a huge difference. Secondly, vegetarians live their lives feeling more fit and healthy and suffering from fewer bouts of sickness. Even doctors, who have been slow in recognizing the importance of nutrition to health, are beginning to concede to the scientific evidence that has been accumulating for about 100 years. Furthermore vegetarians have a 28 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease and a 39 percent lower risk from cancer.

The research of the British Medical Association is based on a 12-year study of   5,015 British meat-eaters and  6,115  non-meat eaters. It was a thoroughly controlled study which took into account the effects of living conditions, social status, weight, job hazards and smoking. However, it still ended up pointing the finger at meat. Also, the British authors were “unable to pinpoint exactly what in the vegetarian diet contributes to increased longevity”.

John Scharffenberg, drawing upon epidemiological data provided by Lemon and Walden, reported that the best diet for human beings in terms of health and longevity is vegetarian. In general, vegetarians live about six years longer than their meat-eating counterparts.

Vegetarians have higher Intelligence Quotient (IQ) levels – British Medical Journal.

If your child’s IQ is high, he is more likely to be a vegetarian as an adult. The study, reported in the BMJ, involved 8,179 participants aged 30 years whose IQ was tested at age 10. Researchers found that higher percentage of people with higher IQ at the age of 10 turned vegetarian by 30. They said it could explain why people with higher IQ were healthier. People who follow Vegetarianism have a lower cholesterol levels and a reduced risk of obesity and heart disease. Hence they have a greater change of living a healthy life.

American Diet Association: The American Diet Association states that vegetarians have lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease. They have lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, & lower rates of hypertension, type-2 diabetes and prostate and colon cancer. The vegetarians are less likely than meat-eaters to be obese.

Above data and research by leading medical research associations prove that a vegetarian diet is the best diet for us. By adopting a purely vegetarian diet, one also contributes towards restoring and maintaining the biological and ecological balance on earth. Ayurveda, the Indian Science for life also mentions similar results of plant based diet.
